STOKES VALLEY CONCERT
A very successful concert, arranged by Mr. E. Muir, was 'held in the Hell on Saturday, May, 31st., and as a result the very satisfactory sown of £5-14-0 was raised, for the purchasing of prizes, for the children of the Presbyterian Sunday School at their forthcoming anniversary services. Those taking part were:- The Misses E. Purdie, K. BaTtosh, M. Windsor, Sykes,. Armstrong, Mrst Bishop, Messers Chamberlain, Gr. Ayson.CMuir, and Shadfltock. Also two c-harming little dancers, Diana and Betty Elliott. The items included, Pianoforte Duet, Songs, Elocutionary Items, Violin Solos, A Dickens Character Recital, and some clever Lightning Sketches. Every item was deservedly popular,, and encores were numerous. Mr. L. Muir was the accompanist, and many thanks are due to* him for the excellent manner in wirieh he pilayed all the accompaniments. To one and all thanks are 'due for the Success of the concerti, the large audience showing their appreciation in a very hearty manner. A iappy concert was brought to a close by the singing of the National Anthem. ' '
