The annual meeting of the Hutt Bowling, Tennis and Croquet Club will be held on ■ Thursday evening next in t>h'e club's pavilion. Mr. K. V. Robinson of the local branch of the Bank of N.S. Mr. Neill Thomas Giltespie, LLr.B., was on Friday last admitted as a barrister and solicitor of tlhe Supreme Court of New Zealand by His Honour the Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers., on the motion of Mr. C. B. Barrett. i ■ . ■ ■- ■ j The Workshops and Petone Committee of St. John"Ambulance Association 1 has arranged to hold a series of dances in the King George Dance Hall, commencing on 25th inst in aid of the uniform fund. The Pensylvanian Orchestra -has been engaged and a number of novelty dances arranged. The i abject is a most worthy one and should j receive the very general support of the public. ' ■ .-. On Wednesday last was held the final meeting or the Lower HuttY's. The meeting was opened with Scripture reading and' prayer. ' Mrs Aldersley presided. A resignation notice from Key. Gutry was, received. Four V.M.A.A members were'present and it was decided, after some discussion, to disband the V's and t-hat- all members should join the V.M.A.A. After the meeting a social was held in which everyone participated, a very enjoyable evening being spent. " . Miss Bradfieldj a. distinguished missionary of. East Bengal, India, will give an address at the Baptist Church, on Sunday evening next and deal with, some of .the problems of this great Empire which are at present taxing the resources of the best brains of our nation. . Miss Bradne/M has spent many years in India and is thoroughly conversant with the people, their customs, religions and needs, and is therefore in the position to give iboth interesting and reliable information.
