Ladies' Guild.

Tie members of the congregation of the Whites. Line Anglican Church, remained, behind after service on a recent Sunday evening to discuss the formation q£ a Ladies' Guild for that cihiarch. Archdeacon Hansell spoke on the wonderful work accomplished by such a Guild at Karori, and the need for it there. Mrs Thompson moved and Mrs. Bayliss seconded, that such a Gniflid be formted. Mrs. Hoggard asked if ,'tihe Arehdeaeon could otafcline a little of the functions of such a body, and manner of working. Mr. Hansell stated that it wouild be a band of workers for fellowship, and to discuss the wants and problems of a new and growing church district. As an instance: a new room was needed, and about to be started by vol-umtary lQibour,^and there would be money needed for that,, and as far as he . could see, ladies were able to accomplish wonderful things in that re--1 speert.. They should have the jurisdiction over money raised by themsefives, and eo'uld earmark such stems as tthey thought fit, for the works or. societies connected with the church in whicih. they were interested; that however, was for: the ladies tq decide when they lhad met and discussed their future pro<gramme of' work. The nieetiiig will be .held each Wednesday at 2 p.m and that day wasr thought to be the most suitaMe for tJie majority. Anyone not present at the meeting and desiring to join or know more of the idea of. the Guild, is invited to attend the meetings,
