MOERA BOY SCOUTS.

The concert arranged by the ]\fqera Boy-Scouts Committee iield-in Moera' Hall, was quite a. success in every way. %ltJiough the hafllwas not filled to overflowing, as e'ipe'eted, there was a fair nttustex of the general public and the scout and guide fraternity, and tihe results of the venture will show a clear bailanee. on the rig-It side of the ledger.

The Whole programme was of a high, standard of merit and ', every item was appreciated to the full as evidenced [vby the Rigorous applause each received from the audience. Mr. D. MscEjwen I (chairman the Troop Committee) spoke on be-half of the newly! formed TrWp and announced apologies from Sir Alexander Roberts, Mr. G. A. Chap-

man, and Sir Alfred Robin., Mr. J. Hoare superintended the programme arrangements and he is to be highly conixnleaided for the able way in which he carried out his duties. The spot ligiit was in the capable hands o>f Mr. A. Hughes. The Lower Hutt Scout Band* was in attendance and'played outside the hald before the commencement of the concert. Valuable assistance was rendered by the Boyers in tiie body of the hall. The various ifceans rendered by Pascoe's Orchestra were -well -worth hearing, and instrumental, items by: Mr Brough (cornet) and Mr. .Harry Unwin (violin) were of a very Tiigh order. Songs from the "Rose of Joy" cantata by t»le Children of Bandwiek Parents'* Association were nicely rendered and much appreciated. The Moeia Girl Guides' tableaux "CJamp Pixie Song" was much.: enjbyed. Duos by Misses Douthett with violin and piano accompaniment, Highland Ming by; Miss Joan McDowell, Mouth Organ dti'et ' and Maori songs by Masters Gurvitch, songs by Miss WeLsh, pianoforte sioio by Miss Clark, and other items coinlbined to make a concert WeHi worti.1 going a good many miles to >hear and see.
