INDUCTION OF REV. HAROLD A

SHARP,

An Induction Service was held in the Hutt Methodist Church, on Wednesday evening, May 7tib. The Bey. E. D. Peutchett, Chairman of the Weilingtoa District, conducted the service.

The Circuit Stewards—Messrs W. J. Cody and A. J. Johnston—introduced Rev. Sharp and the chairman delivered tihe induction address and extended to him t«he right hand of fellowship. . He alsio; 'addre^ed the membiers of tlte Church. Tttue choir sang the anthem, "How Lovely are Thy Messengers/

After the service the,, congregation adjourned ito Wesley Hall where a welcome social was held. Mr. "W. J. Cody presided. The choir sang- a eofUjple of pant songs and several members contributed solos. . Tbe Rev. James MeCaw (Presbyterian) was present and heairtily welcomed '■ Mr ShaTp to_tth.e Hutt \ alley. . The Superintendent of the Sunday School voiced the feelings of the teachers and scholars and welcomed Mr and Mrs Sharp and t££eir two children. Mr. A.' E; Thomas, gave a; hearty welcome on behalf of the "Waiwlheitu 'Church and Mrs HalL on.'beSialf of the Ladies' Guild. The Chairman of the • District congratulated Mr. Sharp on his appointment to 'tßre fine new

Methodist Church, of the valley and expressed the wish that Mr. Sharp's ministry may be abundantly blessed and fruitful. - '

Mr. S>harp in replying, thanked one and all for the very kind ~and hearty welcome extended to himself, Mrs. Sharp and family, and asked fot the hearty co-operation of ail. -,;

The ladies dispensed a very nice supper during the evening.

The Bible Classes and Young People's welcome took tiie form of a tea on Sunday afternoon at 5 o 'clock. .There were about 80 present and. the Superintendent of the Sunday School presided. At the. close of the tea, addresses of welcome were given by Miss Thomas (Waiwhetfu), Mr. W. A. Mullan (Taita), Miss B. Smith (t&e leader of the Girls' Kia Hiwa Club), MrC. .Bussell (the Young People's secretary), and Mr. F. Jenness (repreßenting the TtTiatees). '

. The hearty way in which all departments of the C&urch's activities "have welcomed Mr. Sharp and his wife and family augurs well for the future success of his ministry.
