In the absence of tihe Pi*esident, Mrs. J.-McCafw, owing to illness-, Mrs G. A. Chapman presided at the monthly meeting of tiie Plunket iSociety, the following eom-mittee menrbers being present: Lady Koborts, Mosrlames Tosswill, J, Wihitton. E. L. Marchant, Gr. Bennett, E. SaJanond, W. E. J3oek, H. Sladden, E. W. Hunt, W. H. Earnahaw, C B. Robinson, F. 3ST.--R. Meadows, S. HoggSrd (ihon. secretary). Sub-committee

delegates: Taita, Mesdames I. E. MaTtin and H. Foley; Waiwhetu, Mesdames B. Girling-Butfccher and D. S. Patrick.

Apologies were received from Mrs yon Zedlitz, Mrs C. B. Buston and Mrs D. A. Ewen. Mrs. H. Hardieastle and Mrs N". F. Qdbson tendered their resignation's (from the committee "whcSi were regretfully received. 'Mrs Salmond and Mrs Bagge were elected to fill the vacancies.

The nurse's report for the rnontth, of April; whT^h showed the. following

figures, was. accepted a^very^satisf/ac-j itory:— ls&w oases 24, visits to tijomesT, 148, visits of adults to rooms: Central, 632; Waiwhetu, 80; Taita, 29. Visits: of babies and other child Ten: Central, 570; Wa-iwhetu, 96; Taita, 63. Telephone call's 42. Subscriptions -handed to nurse: Mrs O.- M. Eolleston 5/-, Mrs A. F. Hiekey, £1/1/-.

Very excellent progress was reported from the sub-committees and the Taita sjuib-eommittee extended a hearty invitation to every one to attend their annual meeting to be held in fche Taita "Hall on Tuesday, .20th, May at 2.30 p.m, when the chair, will be taken, by Mrs W. T. Strand and Mrs. J. McCaw and

Miss B. Humphries are to speak. It is hoped that everybody interested will attend and make the meeting. a ihuge

At a la-ter meeting it was decided to postpone the Plunket Dance'till t»he 10th June.
