A LINEN TEA.
On Friday last, Miss: Patsy Matt-hews gave a most delightful linen-tea in honour of Miss Hansell, whose marriage to the Rev. W. E. Davics takes place so'soon now. The afternoon was really a combination of a* linen tea and. bridge party. Miss Matthews received-, her guests in a charming frock of pink floral georgette, while the guest of t>he •afternoon' wre a suit wine crepe de chine, with wine* coloured hat. Mrs Matthews'. • frock was of black floral crepe de chine, with wiaich. s-he wore a black coat, and Mrs. Hansell's frock was of navy figured crepe-de-chine, with a navy hat. Miss Matthews wore a smart navy marocain with, navy -Jiat.. Amongst the guests were Mesdames Hansell, Chesriey and the Miss StuartForbes, Humphries, N. Dudley, B. Kimbell, V. Dennistoh, J. Riddiford, G. Hansell P. Chuitbn, M. Hardeastle, A. Poniare, E. Chapman, O. Busky, M. Ellis and M.-.Butter. Bridge was.played in the drawing-room, the guests reparing to the dining room where t&e dainty afternoon tea . was set. Miss Dcnniston proved to be the happy winner, of the bridge prize. Miss Hansell
was the happy recipient of all sorts of useful linen gifts, including "table" napkins, oven cloths, a "tea cosy, and many other beautiful and useful articles for the new ■homo, and al-
