The first meeting of the year of the Knox Church Ladies' G.tald was held last Thursday. There was a large attendance and the ladies were very eager to begin the year's .work. T&e chief business of the afternoon was the election of officers for the ensuing year, and the discussion of plans for paying off the debt on the oTgan. Mrs McCaw (president) was in the chair, and was re-elected to that ofiice, wit& Mrs P. Shaw as vice-president; while Mrs Tressider is secretary and Mrs Edmeades treasurer and Mesdames T. S. Waugh, Macaskill, T. M. Cameron, Andrews and Burgess form the Social and Room Committee;, •

It was decided to hold a sale of work "In aid of the organ fund, the date to be decided on later. Afternoon tea was dispensed by the retiring secretary and treasurer.
