A PRESENTATION.

At the last meeting of the Waiwetu Methodist Ladies' Guild, occasion was taken to make a small presentation to one of its moat active and enthusiastic members —Mrs Arthur Knight, iwho leaves very shortly for England.

The presentation Was made by the Guild's president, Mrs Stannard Knig&t who said how appreciative the Guild members were of Mrs Knight's untiring help and interest in tlko Guild, and 'how pleasant it had been in the winter, when tie vestry had proved cold and draughty, to meet at Mrs. Knight's home. The president then asked Mrs. Knight to accept a tangible expression of their appreciation, the small gift being a compact little ease containing cups, saucers, initialed teaspoons and teapot for the afternoon tea on shipboard, also a posy, of "everlastings" and expressed the hope that Mr and Mrs .Knight might have a most enjoyable trip. Afternoon tea brought a most pleasant afternoon to a dose.

One of Knox Senior Young Men>3 Bible Class members, Mr. Arthur. Fergusson, recently left for Dunedin to continue his studies at t>he Theological Hall. Shortly before his departure the cflasses joined in giving him a farewell evening. The programme began with, a short business meeting when all members were-asked to make suggestions regarding the year's work. A very profitable time was spent, and afterwards t»he meeting adjourned to the hall, and the revels 'began. After supper, Miss M. Hamilton, on behalf of the Young Women, and Mr. A. Mason, on behalf of the Young Men, presented the guest of the evening with mementos and ex» pressed the good .wishes of tlhose present. "Auld Lang Syne" brought a jolly evening to a close.

.Another happy evening was spent by the members of the Senior Young Women's and Men's Classes of Knox Church and Sunday School teachers, at the, home of Mrs. Pryde, the occasion being the coming of age of Miss Margaret Hamilton. A very friendly evening was spent in singing ans games. Miss Marie Da vies in a neat speech presented Miss Hamilton with two pistwes from those present. The evening concluded with three -hearty cheers for the hostess, Mrs Pryde, who had so kindly put her thoriue at the disposal of the classes.
