An evening wedding of nVu£h local interest- was solemnised by Rev. Father Daly at J^ow'er Hutt on Boxing Day, when Jean A. Hendry^ o~nly daughter of Mr and Ma-s Win. Hendry, Bridge Street, Lower Hutt, vras married, ,to:. Valentine A. E. Douglas, Only son of bi&jor and 3irs A. E. Douglas, also;of_.Lower Hutt. The Wide,, -who was escorted ... by her fatlier, in a charmihg French model fi-bck of ivory lace over, soft; satin, the front of the skirt being trimmed^ vni*. georgette;roses. She wore- a veil, and orange.blossom and carried a sheaf of Macl6mialilii?s and pale pink spirea. The bridesmaids, 'Misses Marjory Wood and Katlileen Douglas, wore frocks of blue and pink mariette. over pink, and blue satin respectively^ and- beige lace liats trimmed-in the same tones. They each carried a sheaf of blue delphiniums and pink roses, completing a dainty ensemble of hydrangea shades. Their presents froni -the'■"bridegroom were ;pearl rings.- Mr Don BrOokei-Vag best man and Mr Alick Hendiy was groomsman; Mrs Hemvry was in navy crepe satin, with gold: embroideries with hat en suite ami she carried a bouquet of flame and ;golfl, roses..' Mrs Douglas, whq; was .in black;;satin\-with:v/jgje^ ; ririmming,\|-had a bouquet of pale liink roses. The reception, was held in the"; Hutt; Bowling Pavilion, and after thQ wedding;>upper the guest 9 wero entertained-with dancing. The.' bridal couple left later for Auckland, the bride wearing grey-floral crepe de chine and hat with same-apricot tones'and a grey silk coat. They left Auckland on the following Saturday by the s.s Tofua, en route for their future home in Suva, where Mrv Douglas holds a Government • engineering position^
