WEDDING BELLS
BERRY—BROWN
A very pretty wedding took place on 4th December at St. James' Church, when Alice Gertrude, daughter of Mr. J. W. Brown, of Lower'Hutt, was married to Gordon Younger Berry, son of Mr. W; Berry, of Wellington. The bride wore a becoming sleeveless frock of maize moire, the bodice being trimmed with two rows of velvet flowers of wiiite and. maize, crossed at the front and finished at the waist with streamers of ribbon to tone. Her veil was an embroidered one of maize tulle, and she.j carried a bouquet of deep cream joses j and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids were Miss MaTy L. Brown, sister of the bride, and Miss Teanie Wallace. Their frocks were* of green moire J
made with bell sleeves and finished at the waist with early Victorian posies. Hats of beige felt and bouquets of roses completed an effective toilet: Little Siargaret Berry, niece of the bridegroom was flower girl and was prettily dressed in maize moria with frills of mariette, embroidered with rosebuds^. Mr, Brown gave his daughte;Caway,, aii;T tlie" bridegroom was attended by | Mr. Alan Cousins as best man and Mr. J. H. Lee as groomsman. Tie ceremony was performed by- the Rev. G-. V. Kendriek, brother-in-law pf the bridegroom, and af terwai'ds .ar reception was held' at the iKing^jGleorge Hall". Mrs. Brown, mother of tne bride, wore I black mariett'e trimmed with ecru lace, and a black baku -hat, her- bouquet being of xed roses.- The mother of the bridegroom, Mrs Berry, wore a navy [blue ensemble with hat to tone, The bride "travelled in a tailored tweed costume and a cherry coloured felt' hat.
