"Fast Company" comes to the King George Theatre. - It is real amusement " of the highest order, with comedy cf the best rib-tickling land. Jack Gakie is-the'main reason for the daughter. He is a very clever comedian.The plot is based upon a story of baseball players written, by a gr^at American humorist, *Bing Laxdner. TheJ hero, played by Jack Oakie, is a boastful but lovable w&o wisecracks end home-run-hits his way iothe foreground, helping his team, the Yankees, to win the League pennant. He falls into the fast company cf smart eity-bted folks, including a showgirl and some crafty gamblers md he almost ruins his_ own and ius team's chances for-victory on the iay of -the final game of the World's series ,wh3n something (happens to change ihe whole aspect of the plot.
Qakie is a new type of comedian on the screen, and he will add thousands of" admirers to his string with his 'swaggering ".big league' * comedy. capers in this one. Evelyn Brent, as Ac girl who spurns him but later warms to his naive charm, does a great job, as always. Bichard "Skeets" Gallagher, another young actor who hda risen Tapidly in comedy roles, gives a
remarkable performance as the manager of Oakie. Gwen Lee adds a fioll quota of feminine charm, and Sam Hardy as the manager of the Yankees is> as ever, eqival to the demand upon, his powers as a gifted actor.
In a word tie tlrrills, the laughs, the exciting suspense of baseball *re here aplenty and there is an abundant overflow of Clever acting. v3ee it.
