LEAGUE OF MOTHERS.
The local branch of the League of Mothers has up to the present dealt with a very wide and varied range of subjects but so far they have had relationship more especially to children after the first year. To-day, Thursday, the Executive has planned a very comprehensive and interesting afternoon on "His Majesty the Baby." Under the guidance of Dr. C. Findlater and the Plunket Nurse they will be shown the value of prenatal influence on the- child, elementary precautions to be taken in the event of emergencies, and the care of the child for the first nine months. An appropriate programme has been chosen, and part of the room will be equipped as a nursery where young mothers may see practical demonstrations of bed-making, etc. An energetic committee has been preparing patterns of clothes suitable for a young child, one trousseau being made from old garments. These patterns will be procurable at the meeting. Novelties in babies clothes will also be exhibited. The whole demonstration will be made in a room suitably furnished, and members and their friends can look forward to a fascinating and instructive afternoon. Mothers are reminded that . they can leave their babies in the creche which at the request of Lady Alice Furgusson will be photographed at this meeting to be held in King George Hall at 2.30 p.m. sharp. The meeting will be open to all women in the Valley.
