LOWER HUTT FREE KINDERGARTEN.
On Friday next the ladies interested in the Free Kindergarten movement in. the Hutt have arranged to hold a street sales day, for the purpose of assisting this great movement. Three stalls will be situated .in the Hutt and one at Moera. Many promises have been made to supply saleable articles and it is expected that the stalls will be laden with good things, A depot will be opened to receive donations of produce etc. at St. James's small school-room in Woburn Road to-day (Thursday), It is to be hoped that. the public will not forget this noble work on Friday, but that they will support it whole-heartedly, as the movement is very largely dependent upon their support for its mainteanance. Very attractive badges have been made by the ladies which will be presented to those making a donation in the boxes.
Keen interest is being taken in the approaching official opening of thia branch by Lady Alice Ferguson on Saturday 27th inst and the children are looking forward with keen delight to her visit.
