After the game had progressed about 20 minutes, however, Upton scored a clinking angle biiot lixuii a penalty corner against petone. The latter team attacked vigorously, and in the excitement a Hutt player, who had dropped his stick, kicked the ball. A penalty bully was awarded Petone and a 25 resulted. Play continued to oscillate from a strong Petone attack, Warrington defeating the defence with a good shot, uan-tiiue ueing called shortly after with play in tne Petone area. On resumption play was maintained at the same vigorous pace as before, dangerous attacks from both teams being repelled, li. Lusty, who had been playing centre-half, came up to centre forward and the Hutt attack was strengthened considerably. Towards the end of the game Petone conceded a short corner from which R. Lusty netted with a beautuifuul shot. Shortly afterwards Petone retaliated, Smaliwood capping a penalty corner with a fine effort. For the remainder of the game the '' Riversiders" attacked strongly and were several times on the verge of leading, but time was called with no further score. Mr. W. A. Scott capably" controlled the
