SOUTHERN MARKETS. Ohristchureh, October 25. The wheat market keeps very firm, but as there is practically nothing changing hands it is difficult to say what the real values are. Growers are very firm holders, and are making no offers of their grain, although buyers are ready to make purchases. Potatoes are the only produce in which there is any business doing of late, and supplies of these in growers' holding are about exhaueted. A riso in price to £8 per ton at country stations has failed to bring forward any quantity. Prices have ranged from £3 10s to £5 10s for seed tubers, and it is stated that as high as £7 10s has been paid.
