9 LEVIN .STOCK SALE. The New Zealand Loan and 'Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd.. report as follows on their Levin stock sale held yesterday :— At our usual weekly stock sale held in Levin yardis yesterday, a fair entry of cattle met with good competition. We quote: Fat cows £9 Gs to £11 l'ls ; empty forward •condition heifers £7 5s to £7 7s ; 3-vear steers (mixed colours) £10 16s to £11 ; forward conditioned cows £8 1G«; (springing cows £8 15s to £13 : springing heifers £8 5s to £11; 2-year bull £9 14s; weaner pigs 13s.
There was a fair entry of sheep and cattle for Messrs Abraham and Williams's stock sale yesterday and the good demand resulted in a total clearance. Fat wethers sold at 41s Od to 425; forward wethers 36s 9d; empty forward ewes 355; aged ewes and lambs 30s, 32s lOd; woolly hoggets 30s. Fat cows sold from £8, £9 Bs, £10 7s, £11 7s. £12 12s 6>d ; 2-year heifers £5 4s, £6 'l<Ss, £7 Is. £7 -Is. £7 ss: tnipty forward cows £7 15s. £8 15s, £9 ; yearling steers to £4 ; 2-year steers .£6 18s; 15-months heifers £3 15s. £4. £4 13s; yearling heifers £3 10s; 18months to 2-year Shorthorn and Jersey bulls £6 19s 6d, £9 2s (id, £10 16s, £15 15s; springing heifers £8 ss. £9 -10s. £'10. £11 10s, £12 15s; dairy cows in milk to £9 ss.
