SCHOOL CONCERT.
The school concert, for which much preparation in the way of rehearsing the children had" been made during tho past lew days, came off in the Dr(lids' Hall 011 Wednesday evening. The interest taken in the event was evidenced! by the crowd which gathered in front of the hall as tlie timo for the commencement of the performance drew neiir. The hall was well lilled and the various items of the program, which was long and varied, were received with loud applause. The following is the program:—Action song, infants; duet, "Moonbeams,"-'Doris Carter and Nan Waterston; song, "Heroes of the Dardanelles," Mavis Terry; recitation, "Nurse Cavell," Elsie Lee; song ,"We shall get there in time, ' Frank Jamieson and Robert HeKiech ; fafty dance Rita Terry; song "Twinkle, Twinkle," Gweii;Oßrown and Nesta Tippler; wand; drill, "Spiiys; song "The soldier," Annie Pearc'c; the doll's parade, twelve girls; song-, "Japanese Farewell," &. Merwood; song and chorus "Be a man and enlist to-dav," Thelma tiuckman and Harry Kelly; Highland liing, M. Bilderbeck, N. Tremewan and E. Terry; song. r T<andi angels are." Nan Waterston - ; song "The Kaiser," O. Boy. dumb-bell drill, girls; song, "Roamin' in the Gloamin' " M. Bilderheck and N. Tremewan: recitation, "The Quarrel!," "R. Lee and M. Richardson; song, senior children; pianoforte solo. Miss A. Hillson; songs, Mr W. Law. Miss Rhynd and Miss Malcolm ; duct. Mrs St<raiton and Mr T. Tilling; dance, Mr J. Curran. The chairman said that on behalf of the. School Committee he had; great pleasure in thanking the audience for their attendance. Half the proceeds of the concert would go to the Patriotic Fund. This he felt sure would meet with the hearty approval of all present He thanked all who had Assisted and particularly the teachers for the good work they had done in training the children; and also he specially'thanked Mrs Shankland for accompanying the children on tho piano, the Misses Tremewan for preparing the children in the dances and Mrs Brown who so kindly provided afternoon tea. for tho ladies during the practices. A dance followed.
