At a meeting oi' the Shannon school committee hold on Monday evening, the chairman, Mr J. Richardson, presided and there was a good attendance of members. Mr Voysey, head teacner. reported that the ivork ol tree topping was nearly completed. A letter was rocoived from the Hoard of Education forwarding £4 10s as a grant for the topping of the trees. It was resolved to apply for the full amount of the tender. £fi 10s, as promised by the Board, in a. former letter. After transacting some further business tlio committee adjourned.
