McLellan to the ivukfit Dairy Uompaiiy as requested. The question ol the ivuku road deviation giving access to land occupied by Mr Bock was held over till turther notice. The application of the To lioro Dairy Company for permission to put a water service pipe under the Branch lload at Te lloro was granted, the same to lie put down to tne satisfaction ol the engineer. The Chairman was authorised to sign the Balance Sheet- oi 3let March as auditor, as filially settling the same, and that arrangements be made for having 50 copies printed. A deputation from the Te lloro riding, consisting of Messrs McDonald and Jensen attended the Council and complained that ywing to the formation ol a certain road tlie llood waters were backed on to their properties. The matter was left in the hands of tlie councillors for the riding and the engineer to attend to. Councillor JJroauoelt moved and Councillor lletter seconded that lor the purposes of widening and deepening the Koputaroa stream and constructing a new drain, the Horowhenua County Council hereby authorise the raising of a loan of Jil'JoO at 1J per cent per annum for a period of 3UJ years, and declares that the cost ol raising the said loan shall bo payable out ol tlie moneys so raised—providing that the parties interested give an undertaking to either join the Buckley Drainage Board or form a Drainage Board under their control forthwith. Some opposition was shown to this, it being contended that the Couucil would be liable to keep tile drains clear, and it was considered better it the people concerned joined the Buckley Drainage Board and got that body to raise the loan. When the motion was put it was declared to be carried.
