ANOTHER CROSSING ACCIDENT. AUCKLAND, June 22.
A fatal accident, occurred /it a level crossing at Huntly on Saturday afternoon. John Hirjst, a miner employed by the Taupiri Company, lost his life. He was in the act of crossing tho lino on foot when the south-bound Rotorun express came up, struck him, and carried him some distance. Death must have been instantaneous, the body being terribly mutilated. Thero was a clear and unobstructed view of the train for about half a mile, and how tho deceased came to walk in front is inexplicable. Hirst was a recent arrival in the dominion, and had ono son and one married daughter.
