REPORT

WELLINGTON, June 23

Following is the New Zealand High Commissioner's cabled report on London markets for the week ending June 21. (Quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on spot).

Mutton. —Market firm, with no change in prices. Canterbury Jid lb, and light-weight as high as J 3d: North Island -lid.

Lamb.—Offerings very large, and market -.weaker. Prices have declined, with the exception of fours. Canterbury twos Ujjd, heavy-weight fours -l-J ; other than Canterbury sl!d to;(id, according to weight, lightweight as high as 6Jd.

Beef.—Market firm. New Zealand hindquarters 3jd, i'orequarters 3id. Large supplies chilled beef are coming forward, but prices aw tinner. Hindquarters forequarters 3Jd.

Butter.—Market strong. A good demand continues for choicest Xew Zealand and Australian. There is no change in prices, excepting for Danish, which lias advanced Is -Id. Australian butter (exceptional) 110s. choicest Xew Zealand 113s, Danish 121s.

Cheese.—There is a good demand, and the market is firmer. Recent shipments of cheese are of better quality than previous ones. The approximate decrease in June make of Canadian cheese is estimated at 16 per cent, Xew Zealand whitecheese is quoted at (51s Gd, coloured 595; Canadian (new make) white and coloured, 59s (id to GOs (id.

Hemp.—The market opened dull at last quotations, but has been improving, and is now more in demand. The market is somewhat steadier now. New Zealand fair grade, £21 15s, c.i.f.; for good-fair brade buyers offer £28 10s, possibly £29; fair current Manila, £30. * Forward shipments: X. good-fair £29, fair £25; fair current Manila £29. The output from Manila for tho week was 16,000 bales.

Wool.—The market is quiet, but steady. There is no change in prices for tops.
