LiiVLX (U), KOPUTAItOA (0). A scratch match was played between Levin-Wanderers and Ivoputaroa on .Saturday on the Levin recreation ground. Four fifteen minutes' spells were contested. Neither side had its full team in the field, but i'or, all that the game was "willing'' from start to finish. .Jacob kicked off for Koputaroa, and Nepia returned to half-way, where scrambling piny ensued. McLarge, McKenzie and Kore then took the hall to Koputnroa's line, where Uore scored.. Kevin at this part of the game wove having much the best of matters. On turning round Levin-Wanderers immediately began to force matters, and after a lot of hack and forward play, Tim Close got over. The kick at goal failed badly, as every kick at goal did during the game. Levin had hard luck in not scoring more, n.s their men were nearly over many times. At last, however, things began to change. Koputaroa. who had been badly beaten in the first and second .spells, and had held their own in the third, began in the last to "make hacks" of their opponents. •J.Sciascia, Jacob and others working like Trojans. T. Napier got over after a bit of clever play oil his pail, and scored, and Jacob did the same from scrambling play near the corner. Koputaroa, although playing likfc a hand, were kept off the line for a few minutes, and the whistle went, leaving the game a draw—six all. Mr /J. Smith held the whistle, and gave every satisfaction.
