EVENTS IN SHANNON (Chronicled b.v Oiir Resident Hopreventative). On Friday ovoning a social was iickl in the Druids' Hall in connection with the Flax-millers' Union. Mr Parry, organiser for the Union, gave an address in which he urged t/he members to contend for keeping the ranks of labour solid and to enlist the sympathy of the women who had borne much of the brunt of the batle in the struggles of tho Labour party. A dance concluded the evening. There will be a similar gathering in ,a month's time. RIFLE SHOOTING. The first shoot in this vear's competition for the silver cup presented by tile late .Mr Vile. M.11.R., took place on iSaturdav.
