MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE r\MEETING. ' •'•.

A meeting ; of the Management Committee of tho Horowhemia Rugby Union was held last evening at The Chronicle office, Levin. ■Mα , J. Proctor .presided, and those preseaiit were Messrs Whibley, McMillan, lvin,gi Tahiwi; Horo, Easthea , , and W. 11. Burge (Hon. Secretary).

HUT MAT v. LEVTN-WANDERERS

In connection -with this match, played last Saturday, the following letter was received from Mr Kingi Tahiwi, tlie referee:—T beg to report that J referred in the match, Haiii 'Mai. v. Loiyin-Wanderers, on Saturday 10, at Manakau. During tho match I had occasion to warn the following players: Levin-Wan-dorors, J. Hopa ; Hui Mai, Gobble and Taylor. 1 might mention tilitutthe offence committed by each of the above mentioned players was not of such a nature as to warrant a drastic and severe treatment. J. Hopa and Gobble were engaged iu what might be teolinically termed a "rolling'match," and Taylor for what seemed like, intentional tripping. T was perfectly satisfied with, Taylor's explanation, a.nd so just simply warned him. After the match Gobble apologised. Tin my opinion J. Hopa was more to blamefor what happened. The game was played in the best of spirit, and Hui Mai won by nine to eight."

Thevseerctary moved that in view of the referee's letter no action bo taken, against the players. The chairman'seconded the motion which was agreed to.

But Saturdays July 1, 8, and 15 the hoys will ho home—at different places between Ohan, Bridge, and Poriruh. - - nnd it is practically impossble for them to pay their fares to Otaki, Levin, or any centre. Ts it possible to allow byes to our team on tho days they are away from here? Or .in, some way to excuse their having to play on those days?" The secretary moved that byes ho granted to the College team on tiio days applied for, and that the matches be played at the end of tlhei season. Mr Kingi Tahiwi seconded! the motion, which was adopted. INSURANCE.
