RIFLE SHOOTING.
LEVIN DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB
On Saturday afternoon the Levin Defence Rifle' Club commenced its season for trophies shooting by shooting the first competition out of five competitions for trophies kindly donated by Messrs Vedtch and Allan, G. P. Brown and another. The day was not of the best fo. good shooting, the light being very changeable at times, and at tlustart it rained, making things very unpleasant. The conditions were seven shots and one optional sightei at 200 and 500 yards. Following are the scores:— 200 500 yds yds Hp. Tl. Ilfiin. J. Rutherford 30 32 - 62 Rflm. J. Miuiro 29 30 1 6C Rflm. Coppin 2.1 22 10 fit Capt, G. P. Brown 29 24 — 53 Next Saturday the Levin Riflt Club will fire the second competition at 200 and 000 yards, shooting to start at 1.30 p.m. sharp.
