Saunders' house, wa.s burnt to tlx* ground in about. twenty minutes. The firo was .-a used hv .an oil lain]) flaming up and wetting; fire to the curtains. Alter a hard fight tho flames were ,'xt.ingu.ished, and it wa.s thought the tire was out, but shortly afterwards flames hurst through the roof. A greater part of tho furniture 111 the bwer part of the house was saved. .Mr Saunders had tho house insured with the X.Z.
