It then veered round to south-west, followed by cold rain this morning Tho surrounding hills are covered with snow. DfJNEDIN, This Day A gale blew for several hours during the night, and there was a light fall of snow this morning. INYERCARGILL, This Day. Very heavy rain, with snow and Iwn'l, has been falling here, since mkVnight. The rivers fall over Southland are rising fast, particularly the Waiaii. Oreti and Mn.|n urn. There is no signs of it clearing.
