GENERAL STAFF ENLARGED
A development of the Defence Department headquarters organisation has been arranged. ae general staff under Colonel Robin will he increased by creating the positions of Director of Military Training awl Education and Director of Operations and Intelligence. These important positions will be filled by qualified. Imperial general staff officers, who are to arrive in a few months from England. Meanwhile, the work of the Director of Military Training and Education will be undertaken by Lieut. Colonel Chaytor. Major Lascelles will temporarily fill tlie position of Director of Operations and Intelligence. Both officers will be located in Wellington. Lieut.-Colonel Tuson and Major .Lascelles, who are in the imperial service, will leave for England in about four months.
