9 PALMISRSTOX NORTH STOCK SALE. Messrs Abraham and Williams report that at their sale at Palinerston North on Thursday, the 17th inst., they had a full entry of sheep, over 5500 being offered for sale. Competition for all classes was keen, and with the exception of one line of black-face lambs, every pen was sold under the hammer at satisfactory prices. A medium entry of cattle .also sold well. Quotations:— Sheep.—2-tooth ewes, 13s; small 2-tooth ewes, 10s lid; 0-tooth ewes, 13s lid to 13s 8d; 4-year ewes, 10s to lis; 4-tooth to l'.m. ewoa, !)s Ckl to 10s Od; f.m. ewes, 7s (ill to 8s; lOd; cull ewes, 3s Od to 0s; woolly lambs, 9s 5d ; shorn lambs, 7s Id to 8s Id; cull lambs, 4s Id to ss; English Leicester rams, £2 2s: Roniney rams, 1 guinea to 2 guineas.
