THE COROMANDEL GOLDFIELDS.

We have received a sample of gold from Mclsaac’s reef, Coromandel, which is of more value than the ordinary quality of gold from that quarter. We have submitted it to practical men, and they say that the gold is richer than the ordinary Coromandel gold. We do not know what quantity of stone was crushed for the sample ; but anything like a continuous run of the same kiud of quartz would make the claim very valuable. Our Coromandel correspondent mentions that a company is being formed to work the reef, and that shares are being eagerly taken up. Mr Goodall, C.E., is at present engaged in surveying the claims on the reef.
