DISORDERLY BEHAVIOUR
Scene in Heretaunga Street CONSTABLE INJURED Alleged disorderly behaviour i# Heretaunga street laet night accounted for the appearance of Earl Henry Roberts, aged 43 years, in the Hast* ings Magistrate’s Court this morning, Roberts, when being arrested by Cottstable Goodson, is alleged to hav# resisted violently and as a result th# policeman suffered an injury to hi# knee which will require some weeks' treatment before he will be able t# resume duties. Roberts was charged as follows: (I) With behaving in a disorderly manner while drunk; (2) with assaulting Francis William Fitzpatrick by striking him with his closed fist; (3) with resisting Constable Goodson in th# execution of his duty. Senior-Sergeant, Macnamara stated that the constable would not be ava>lable for some time owing to the injury he had sustained. On his application Roberts was remanded till June 26. Mr A. Rosenberg J.P., who was on the Bench, granted the application and allowed bail totaL ling £5O.
