H.B. TROTTING CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING HELD. The annual general meeting of tho Hawke’s Bay Trotting Club was held in Hastings yesterday afternoon, Mr W. A. Macfarlane, president, acting as chairman. Tho annual report, ns published in the “Tribune” last week, was unanimously adopted together with the balance sheet, which showed a deficit of £216. In commenting on the report, Mr Macfarlane stated that the club had paid the Government over £6OO in taxation, and there had been a loss of over £3OO on tho year’s working. Also, the club owed tho Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club £ll9. The coming mooting in Wellington, however, gave every promise of being very successful, and it was hoped that as a result tho club would be enabled to pay off its debts. Officers as already announced in the “Herald’’ were elected, the nominations being only equal to tho number required. Messrs Rainbow, Hobbs and Nesbitt were re-appointed auditors.
