CONTROL OF RACING

H.B. DISTRICT COMMITTEE. PROGRAMMES APPROVED. The Hawke’s Bay District Racing Committee met in the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club’s office yesterday. Present: Messrs G. D. Beatson (chairman), T. V. Morrin, F. P. Kelly, J. J. Gatenby, G. Ebbett, W. J. Wood, P. I'. Wall and C. E. Twist. Various circulars were received from the New Zealand Racing Conference relative to club programmes and licenses. Applications w-cre received from owners to train their own horses and were recommended to the licensing committee. An application by the Napier Park Racing Club for the alteration of the date of its spring meeting to November 4 was approved, and the programmes of the Poverty Buy Turf Club and the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club spring meetings were also approved. Four applications were made for trainers’ licenses, one jockey’s mid one gentleman rider’s certificate, and these are to be forwarded on to the licensing committee for consideration. HAWKE’S BAY JOCKEY CLUB. MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club committee mot yesterday. Present: Messrs G. D. Beatson (chairman), T. V. Morrin, F. P. Kelly, J. J. Gntenby, G. A. Maddison, J. A. Macfarlane, H. A. Russell, J. 8. McLeod, G. Ebbett and T. 8. Roulston. The committee passed a resolution of sympathy with the widow mid relatives of the late Mr R. L. Williams, a prominent member and official of the club for a number of years. Mr R. Gooseman wrote acknowledging his election ns a life member of tho Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club. Letters concering the insurance on the club’s buildings were received, and it was resolved that last year’s insurance be renewed. Tho spring programme was discussed and the recommendation of the programme committee adopted. It was decided to make an effort to obtain new members. The financial statement, was placed before members, and accounts were passed for payment subject to the approval of the treasurer.
