In reply to statements published as to what took place at a deputation of members to the Government on Monday. in regard to the Licensing Bill, the Prime Minister states that he had said he could raise no objection to a private member bringing down the bill, but that he would have to ascertain whether the forms of the House would permit that course to he followed. As to the request that a Minister of the Crown would bring down the bill, h e had •’aid that that was a matter upon which he was unable to answer nt the moment hut ho would consider it. In any case he had said he thought it was time for calm thinking, and it might be necessary for him to call the partv together i'n order to discuss the situation,
