XMAS. CHEER
APPEAL FOR FUNDS.
H.B. CHILDREN’S HOMES’ REQUEST.
Now that the thoughts of parents are directed to the question of providing Christmas presents and entertainment for their children, the trustees appeal to them to spare a thought to the 113 children in the homes at Napier and Eskdale. It is hoped to make the festive season one of pleasure to these children by providing at least one present for each child and seeing that the homes are properly supplied with Christmas cheer. To this end the trustees ask all who sympathise with these objects to assist to provide the necessary funds to carry them out. If support is received from all the districts represented by the inmates of the homes, thene is no a-oubt that sufficient funds will be forthcoming to make this Christmas a memorable one for the children. At present there are in the homes 34 children from Napier. 32 from Hastings, S from Waipawa-Waipukurau. 1 from Dannevirke. 7 from Wairoa, and 10 from country districts In addition, the trustees wish to give every child 2s to spend as he. or she likes in town at Christmas. The privilege of spending money at their own will is not one that often comes the way of these child’'"" so it is earnestly hoped the opportunity will be afforded them this Christmas. Donations >n money or . kind should be sent to the secretarv Mr H. E. Edgley. Tennyson street. Napier. Anv contributors who wish parcels collected should telephone 3653 or 2227 Na/ier.
