The annual conference of delegates to the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association decided that entrance fees for all amateur events be Is. but the fees for New Zealand championship events will be 2s fid. The selection committee for future New Zealand teams shall consist of two selectors, one from each island. In future, where entries total more than 10, heats will be run in both the 440 yards and 880 yards championship. A remit from the Canterbury Centre that the present system of Australasian championships be rescinded and that in their place a biennial contest between New Zealand and Australia be held, was carried. After considerable discussion, a motion that walking events be deleted from the programme for the New Zealand championships was lost. CYCLING EVENTS. Christchurch, Dee 10., The New Zealand athletic championships were continued in glorious weather. The cycling heats were de cided this morning at English Park as follows:— Half-mile championship. — First heat: F. Grose 1, L, Wakely 2, M. P. Byrnes 3. Time. 68 l-ssecs. Second heat: J. H. Wade 1, A. W. Day 2, T Oaklev 3. Time, 69 3-ssecs. One-mile cycling championship.— First heat: M. P. Byrnes 1, T. Oakley 2, J. Horsfall 3. Time, 2mins. 26secs. Second heat: T. Grose 1. K. Vankivell 2, H Wade 3. Time, 2mins. 24 3-ssecs Three-miles cycling championship.— First heat: Grose 1, M P. Byrnes 2, A. W. Day 3. Time 7mins. 29secs. Second heat: T. Oakley 1 A K. Vankivell 2. J. H.
