TOWN BOARD MEETS. PETITION UNDER CONSIDERATION The monthly meeting of the Taradale Town Board was held last night. Present: Messrs H. IV. Whitton (chairman). C H. Williams, A. Simpkin, j. Ellis, G. Brown, and W. H. C. Howard, The Department .of Internal Affairs wrote advising that the board’s petition praying that the Taradale town district and portion of Greenmeadows be constituted a borough would receive consideration and the board would Ire again communicated with.- -Received. INFORMATION DENIED. In connection with the proposed formation of a borough, the Greenmeadows Progressive League wrote forwarding a letter received from Air E Mulvanah requesting answers by the clerk of the Town Board to a number of questions. Mr. G. Brown: I think we sTFoiild reply stating that the clerk has too much to do to answer that kind of stuff. Mr AV Whitton : There are various other sources from which Mr. Mulvanah can get this information. He is not a ratepayer in Taradale and therefore has no right to it. I am sure that the board would be pleased to confer with the society in any matters on which thev desire information. but it should not recognise an individual. It was then decided to furnish the society with any information required but to intimate that a priva'te person could not be recognised. OVERSEER’S REPORTS The overseer reported that the work of tar-sealmg Puketapu road to beyond the Anglican Church had been completed while a start had been made with the sealing on the main road between the Post Office and Redcliffe bridge. The work here was however, now held tip owing fo a supply of material not coming to hand. The necessary filhng-in preparation for laying down an asphalt tennis court on the park was now finished and was ready for spraying with tar.
