ANGLING
PICKETT CUP CONTEST.
This week-end, the Heretaunga Anglers’ Club will hold the fly fishing competition for the Pickett Cup, and the conditions generally promise to be favourable for the contest, which though the rivers are somewhat high will include the Tiiki Tuki, the Ngaruroro and the Tutaekuri rivers, on which there has ben no allotmnt of waters for the competition. The competition is confined to members of the club, and of course, all mui-t be caught on a fly. The time allotted for the contest is from 7 a.m. to and the weigh-in- will take place at, Mr Pickett’s shop, in Heretaunga street, at 8. p.m. The following are the competitors: —Messrs A. 1. Rainbow, 11. 8. Moss, A. E. O’Meara, W. Richmond E. C. Clarkson, J. R. Cottenl!, 1). Balharry, T. Laing’ J. E. Lane, C. Golding, G. Rochfort, Harrison, F. 11. Waikfr, T. Mitchell H. M. Michie J. T. Walker. C. T.’ Waite, F. J. Irkin, E. T. Gifford and Dr. Harvey.
