The Dominion Meteorologist telegraphs as follows for 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day -.—The indications are for variable and moderate breezes, northerly winds, moderate prevailing, and freshening shortly. There is a prospect of fair weather which will probably become warmer. Barometei; falling shortly.

The Hawke’s Bay Electric Power Board yesterday was informed by the secretary, Mr. H. H. Wylie, that of the £200,000 loan £155,000 had been spent on construction work: £15,000 on ranges, service lines and wiring, which amount was owing to the board. The sum of £30,000 «»■ ou fixed deposit.
During the month the collection at the zoo at Cornwall Park had been added to by the arrival of two thar, six Zubra finches, and two tortoises from Wellington. A goat had been donated by Master Isaacson. Maraekakalio,. With regard to the lastmentioned animal it was decided by the council hist evening that this be received and the donor thanked.
At the Hastings Magistrate's Chart before Mr. A. M. Mowlem. S.M.. the Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Co-operative Association (Mr. A S. Tonkin} sued Mrs A. Holland for £3 16/- for groceries supplied. It was the eoU-' tention of 'he defendant who was not represente.l by counsel, that the goods were paid for by her when delivered, and that no credit had been given her. His Worship said it was plain that credit had been given and K entered judgment for nlaintiff for the * amount claimed and £1 16/- costs. '
Members of the Hawke’s Bay Real Estate Institute are notified by advertisement that the president of the New Zealand Real Estate Institute, Mr. H. Duigan. is making an official visit to the district and requests all members to meet him on Tuesday night next in the Hnwke’s Bay County Chambers, Browning street, Napier, at 8 p.m. Mr. Duigan is most anxious to do all in his power to improve matters dealing with the business of. land agency. It is the first time that a New Zealand president. has officially visited this district and a large gathering is anticipated.
The revenue returns of the Post and Telegraph Department for the quarter ended September 30 last were published in the Gazette last night. The postal revenue (shillings and pence omitted} for ' the quarter amounted to £349.983, compared with £370.169 for the corresponding quarter last year. The telegraph revenue for the same period was £419.786, compared with £408.559. Money orders issued totalled £1.288.155. compared with £1,291.849: and savings bank deposits £6,635.762, compared with £7,533,915
