A WIN FOR PURDY. MILLER OUTPOINTED. Sydney, Dec. 6. At the Sydney Stadium Purdy outpointed Miller in 15 rounds. IS SHARKEY TRTTNG TO EVADE HEENEY? New York, Nov. 18. The New York Boxing Commission has placed Jack Sharkey under technical suspension owing to his failure to fulfill his engagement to fight Tom Heeney, the New Zealander, to-night. The Commission found some evidence, but hardly convincing estimony, that Sharkey had fractured one of his fingers. It ordered that he cannot fight anyone else until he fulfils the arrangement to m e et Heeney. The date is provisionally set for January 14. DOUBLE STAR BILL. The booking for the Napier Boxing Association’s tournament opened yesterday and good business was done. This is not surprising considering the number of bouts being staged and the calibre of the performers. The two chief bouts will be between Leckie and Carroll, and- Taylor and Griffiths. Griffiths and Dx'kie got a wonderful reception from a vast crowd of enthusiasts at Dmfedin the other night, who were emiie Uy satisfied wITIi their performnn.vs. and there is no doubt the same will happen here for the same reason. The other two professional contentants are in fine trim and should acquit themselves well. During the spells between the bouts Mitchell's Band will play
