SWIMMING
HERETAUNGA CLUB. COMMITTEE MEETING. A committee meeting of the above club was held last evening, Mr. T. Milne presiding over a full attendance. It was decided .to carry on witii last week’s programme tor Friday night, which is as follows: — Learners’ race, one width; secondary schoolboys, 25 yards; ladies’ 50 yards; B Grade handicap, 25 yards; club handicap, 50 yards; open diving; B Grade diving; novelty balloon race; novelty cig»rette race; girls’ race. 25 yards, and teams' race Swimmers are asked to notice that they must take part in at least one event before swimming in the teams’ race. AU swimmers interested in water polo are asked to hand in their names to the secretary as it is expected to have a game after Friday’s club night. The matter of furthering the interest in ladies’ swimming was discussed. an t ] it is hoped to make several improvements in the nmr future.
