RECORDS BY BORG. Stockholm. Nov. 27. Arne Borg swam, free style, 300 metres in 3min 27 1-5 secs and 300

yards in 3niin 10 2-5. —(A. and N.Z.) Arne Borg holds the world’s records for these two distances. His time for 300 metres is 3min 33secs, and for tho 300 yards 3min 16 2-5 secs. If these new times are official they easily beat his previous best swims. HERETAUNGA CLUB. COMMITTEE MEETING. A committee meeting was held last evening, Mr. A. Mclvor presiding. Also present: Messrs Pickard, Hood, Lewis, D. Mclvor, West, Poppelwell, Milne and Graham. It was decided to endeavour to get two polo teams with a view to having games after the Friday carnivals. It wa s also decided that “A competitor must take part in at least one event before he can swim in the teams’ race.’’ The following programme was adopted for Friday night: learners’ race, 1 width; secondary schoolboys’ race, 25 yards: boys’ race. 25 yards; ladies’ race. 50 yards: B Grade, 25 yards; club handicap, 50 yards; open diving; B Grade diving; novelty balloon race: novelty cigarette race; girls’ race, 25 yards: teams’ race. Entries close on Wednesday evening next. I
