BOARD ELECTION Christchurch Nov. 24. The lections for the Christchurch Tramway Board were held to-day and resulted almost in a complete victory for the Citizens’ Association (anti-Labour) candidates. In the central area the five Citizens candidates were elected to the five seats the highest Labour candidate. Mr E. J. Howard, M.P., being 115(1 votes behind the fifth Citizens candidate. In the Riccarton district the sitting member was returned unopposed. In the Spreydon, Additio , Avon and Brighton districts, the siting members, both opposed by Labour 'Hindidates, were elected, but in the HillsSumner area, the sitting member, the Hon. J Barr. M.L.C. was defeated by Mrs Elizabeth McCombs.
