ALL EYES ON AUCKLAND
TO-NIGHT’S WOOL SALE.
(Special to “Tribune.”) Auckland, Nov. 24. All eye* In New Zealand faming and commercial circles will be on the first Auckland sale of the 1927-28 wool selling season, opening this evening. By many in the inner circles it is held that the sale will be a sound test as to whether the values already established will be maintained throughout the season. The prices realised at the London sales on Tuesday are a clear indication that the advance in the New Zealand market was no “flash in the pan,” and makes it practically safe to assume that to-night’s sale will not see a fall in values. It is also instructive to note that Bradford buyers registered increased activity at Wanganui on Tuesday, while Continental buyers are strong operators on any line that comes within the range of their require-
ments. The whole of the Auckland offering of 23.650 bales has now been catalogued and prepared for buyers and. ?;enerally, appears in good condition or an early sale. Buyers have arrived, and it is certain that there will be a full bench. ' To-night’s offering exceeds by over 8,000 bales the offering of any of the three previous catalogues. LONDON WOOL SALES. (Received 24. 12.20 p.m.) London,, Nov. 23. The wool sales were postponed owing to fog.—(A. and N.Z.) Dalgety and Co. report having received the following cablegram from London dated November 23rd:—London wool sales: No wool sales held to-day owing to thick fog.
