COUNTY COUNCIL’S EXPERIMENTS. POISONED GRAIN FOR USE. In regard to the rook nuisance a matter which' has been the subject of considerable correspondence of late, the clerk of the Hawke's Bay County Council, Mr A. H. Fergusson, when interviewed by a “Tribunt” representative, stated that in this direction the Council had carried out a considerable amount of experimenting and investigating. As the re- • suit, it had come to the conclusion that the only means within reach to deal with the nuisance was the laying of poisoned grain. This, the Council had in stock, and it could be obtained free of cost upon application. If aqy farmer had a better scheme of dealing with the menac e the council, he said, would be pleased to consider it, provided it was within reason.
