The match with the Rest was resumed hi bright sunshine, but about 3 o’clock storm clouds gathered and at 4.15 a heavy thunderstorm swept over the ground and play for the day ceased at the tea adjournment. Batting was slow and careful today. The wicket was uncertain as to pace and in favour of the slow bowlers, but neither was the batting nor the bonding up to a very high standard. Dempsey, Blunt and Lowry were the onlv batsmen who went really well and they were all careful.
