OKAWA CLUB TRYING CONDITIONS PREVAIL. Trying conditions obtained n n Saturday- for the shoot-off bv 'he Okawa Club of the final round for the president’s trophy and the first round of the Furniss trophy. Riflemen Thompson and Alclvo- tied for the president’s trophy, and after an exciting shoot-off the former won. For the Furniss trophy R. T. Cleary and D. I. WAIPUKURAU CLUB. On the Alt. Vernon range during the week-end the Waipukurau Defence Rifle Club fired off the second round of the Hunt Shield and Hodge Cup. A fish-tail wind made shooting at times very difficult, elevation trouble being very general, which is, perhaps, due to the Mark VII. ammunition the club is using, the general opinion being that it is not up to the standard of Mark VI.
