FIRE IN NEW YORK

CITY BLOCK WRECKED.

£500,003 DAMAGE DONE.

(Received 19, 8.55 a.m.) New York. Nov. 18. Fire wrecked the New York Central Railway Warehouse, covering a large city block. It contained, amongst an immense assortment of general foods, 1000 new automobiles and trucks awaiting delivery. The damage is estimated at £500,000.

Three firemen were injured and 50 jumped to safety when the huge wall collapsed, destroying a new steel water tower.—(A. and N.Z.)
