FIJI’S RECOVERY
PERIOD OF PROSPERITY AHEAD.
GOVERNOR’S VIEWS.
(Received 18. 9.45 a.m.) Sydney, Nov. 18. Sir Eyre Nutson, Governor of Fiji, arrived on the Sierra for a holiday tour. He advocated reciprocity, in trade between Australia and New Zealand and British possessions in the Pacific which, he said, was a factor that would make for the progress of the Pacific. He added that Fiji had quite recovered from her labour troubles resulting in a stoppage in the shipments of coolies from India and a period of prosperity was ahead.
